SET Course Registration Request

Description

Registration request for a SET course

The application will be available during open registration periods only and will close when registration is no longer possible.  Please be sure to 'submit' the application once the form is filled out and saved.  You will receive an email confirmation once submitted and a follow up message by a SET advisor once your request has been approved or denied, in 1-2 business days.

Please use this application form to request assistance in registering in a SET course in one of the following circumstances:

  • The course is full, and you'd like to overload into it (please note, you'll be required to obtain written instructor permission in order to complete your request).
  • You are receiving a prerequisite error, but you have taken the required prerequisite already (proof of your course will need to be uploaded).
  • You are an undergraduate student wanting to take a graduate level (500 level course).
  • You are a graduate student wanting to take an undergraduate level (100-400 level course).
  • You need an add-code to register for the course (497/498/499 courses).
  • We are in the restricted add-period for the quarter (weeks 2-3, all courses require instructor permission when this occurs).

Important information:

  • Please do not use this request if you are repeating a course and cannot register for it due to the repeat.  You will need to complete the SET course repeat petition: https://setuwt.smapply.us/prog/repeat_petition/
  • We do not allow students to take SET courses without having completed the necessary prerequisite(s).  You will need to provide proof (via an unofficial transcript copy) that you have the prerequisite complete if you are getting a registration error and need our assistance.  If you have questions about prerequisites or course substitutions, please contact a SET advisor.
  • Do not submit a registration request unless we are in the open registration period for the quarter you are requesting.
  • Do not submit a registration request if you are trying to register for more than 19 credits (you must wait until the start of the quarter to register for this many credits).
  • Your request will not be granted if there are unresolved time conflicts on your schedule or holds on your account.
  • For overload requests, you will need written consent from the instructor granting you permission to overload their course.  Permission from the faculty member is not a guarantee of enrollment.  Advisors will determine that you are qualified and that the classroom is large enough to accommodate this request (when applicable).
  • UW does not have a formal waitlist system for full courses.  Please sign up for seat availability notifications through the time schedule (click on the hyperlink of the SLN to find the seat availability notification), otherwise you have to obtain faculty permission to be overloaded in a full course (see above).
  • This request is for SET courses only, not math or any other department at UWT.
